An independent academic validation of the Fractalysium predictive threat model demonstrated 91% accuracy over 18-month forward projections across 12 monitored geopolitical flashpoints.

An independent academic validation study commissioned by Fractalysium and conducted by a European university research group has confirmed that the Fractalysium AI prediction engine achieved 91% accuracy in forecasting geopolitical instability events across 12 monitored flashpoints over an 18-month retrospective test window.

Methodology

The validation study applied a backtesting methodology, running the Fractalysium model against historical data from January 2023 to June 2024 across 12 geopolitical flashpoints selected by the independent research team. The model had no access to outcome data during the test predictions were generated using only the inputs available at each historical point in time.

Accuracy was measured across three event categories: significant armed conflict escalation, major protest or civil unrest events, and resource supply disruption events. The 91% accuracy figure represents weighted performance across all three categories and all 12 regions.

"Predictive intelligence is the difference between being prepared and being surprised. 91% accuracy means our clients are prepared nine times in ten a significant operational advantage."

Model Architecture

The Fractalysium engine combines transformer-based NLP models processing open-source text data with a graph neural network encoding geopolitical relationship structures, a time-series forecasting layer trained on 15 years of conflict and instability data, and a multi-spectral satellite change detection module. These inputs are fused into a single probabilistic risk score updated continuously.
